The penalty for an expired visa in the UAE for tourists and residents is AED 50 (USD 13) per day

The UAE government has reduced the fine for an expired visa from AED 100 (USD 27) to AED 50 (USD 13) per day. This decision was made to encourage tourists and residents of the country to renew their documents in a timely manner.

Another change made is related to simplifying the visa application process. Now, individuals can access information about application procedures, issuance, renewal, and cancellation on government websites — the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai. This will assist document holders in quickly tracking changes and avoiding any delays.

Visa and entry permit applications can be submitted through the Dubai Now app, website, or center. Additionally, individuals can still apply through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
