Such indicators show that the emirate continues to be an attractive place for foreigners from all over the world who want to find the most favourable location to live and work or just to get to know the country and see it for themselves. Since January 2023, the population of Dubai has increased by more than 72,700 people with the total now hitting more than 3.6 million.
The Golden visa has been available since 2019 and is valid for 10 years from the date of issue. It allows the holder to live, work, and study in the Emirates, plus sponsor family members and domestic staff. Individuals who make a minimum investment of AED 2M (USD 545K) in real estate qualify to receive the Golden visa.
Other categories of foreigners who are eligible without needing to make a monetary investment include outstanding scientists, talented professionals and excellent students. As of November 2022, more than 150,000 Golden visas were issued to talented foreigners.
