The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) urges businesses that received licenses in August or September of any year to register for corporate tax no later than October 31, 2024. Those who fail to register or miss the deadline will face administrative penalties.
For reference, Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses came into effect on March 2, 2024. The registration deadlines for taxable persons are established in FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024. According to this document, UAE resident legal entities registered before March 1, 2024, must submit their corporate tax registration applications within deadlines that depend on the month their license was issued. The year when the company received its license is not relevant. If a legal entity holds multiple licenses, the registration deadline is determined by the date of the first license received.
Corporate tax registration can be completed through the EmaraTax online platform, which is available 24/7. The process takes approximately 30 minutes. Registration can also be done through authorized tax agents listed on the FTA website or at government service centers.
Once the application is approved, the legal entity will receive a registration number, which will be sent to the email address provided by the taxpayer in the registration application.
