According to Henley & Partners — the firm behind the index, which is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) — UAE citizens can now travel to 185 countries without obtaining a visa in advance. This makes the UAE the top-ranked country in the Middle East and the only nation in the region to enter the global top 10 in recent years.
Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners, emphasized that the UAE serves as a model of effective diplomacy. Its success reflects years of dedicated efforts to sign reciprocal visa waiver agreements.
The Henley Passport Index is a respected international ranking that assesses the strength of 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter visa-free or with a visa on arrival. The index analyzes access to 227 travel destinations. A country’s position in the ranking is a direct indicator of its diplomatic influence. The UAE’s entry into the top 10 confirms the high level of global trust and recognition it has achieved.
